“Women’s Energy in Entrepreneurship” Program Launches

The “Women’s Energy in Entrepreneurship” program, initiated through a collaboration between SOCAR Türkiye and the Entrepreneurship Foundation of Türkiye (GİRVAK), will support women in the Aliağa region of İzmir in transforming their ideas into entrepreneurial ventures.

SOCAR Türkiye — Türkiye’s largest integrated industrial group — and GİRVAK, which works to promote an entrepreneurial culture and remove barriers to entrepreneurship in Türkiye, have joined forces to launch the program. Sponsored by SOCAR Türkiye, “Women’s Energy in Entrepreneurship” aims to prepare women in İzmir’s Aliağa district, who are currently not in education or employment (NEET), for their entrepreneurial journey.

Speaking at the launch event, Mikayil Yusifov, Head of Communications and Public Relations at SOCAR Türkiye, stated: “At SOCAR Türkiye, in addition to the economic value we generate through our strategically important group companies, we are committed to fulfilling our social responsibilities by developing projects that create community benefit, particularly in the regions where we operate. We believe that women’s active participation in the economy is one of the key drivers of societal progress. Through the Women’s Energy in Entrepreneurship program, we aim to support NEET women in Aliağa in bringing their powerful ideas to life and contribute to sustainable development through entrepreneurship.”

Program Details

The eight-month-long program will initially welcome 50 participants and focuses on empowering women through entrepreneurship. Participants will receive training and support in various areas including business development, financial literacy, digital skills, and social solidarity.
Women residing in İzmir’s Aliağa region who are interested in turning their ideas into viable ventures can apply for the program at www.socar.com.tr/girisimdekadinenerjisi until February 17, 2025.
