STAR Refinery is the essential link in the refinery-petrochemical integration within the SOCAR Türkiye value chain and develops strategic products for the country's economy and industry needs. These include naphtha and reformate, critical raw materials for the petrochemical sector, and petroleum products such as diesel, jet fuel, LPG, sulfur, and petroleum coke, which constitute essential items of the current account deficit. The company reduces Türkiye’s petroleum product imports and focuses on increasing the competitiveness of the country while reducing its dependence on foreign sources.

Increasing its annual gross production capacity up to 12 million tons, STAR Refinery contributes in reducing Türkiye's current account deficit while continuing to add value to our country with its human-friendly and environment-friendly production technology.

STAR Refinery continues to serve at its world-class facility in Aliaga, Izmir, having its structure integrated with Petkim, operational flexibility, technology for processing different types of crude oil, 63 storage tanks, and approximately 1,200 employees. The refinery, which has an annual crude oil processing volume of 12 million tons and a storage capacity of 1.9 million cubic meters currently meets 18% of Türkiye's need for processed petroleum products.
