CHARGE Europe 2025 – Powering Energy Brands – Conference and Awards, one of the most prestigious branding events in the energy sector, was held in Istanbul on 13–14 October 2025, hosted by SOCAR Türkiye.
The conference, one of the energy sector's most important events focused on branding, communication and strategy, was organised this year under the theme ‘Maintaining Consistency in Uncertain Times’. The two-day programme addressed topics shaping the future of energy brands, ranging from branding processes to communication strategies, brand value investments to stakeholder trust, and digital transformation to sustainability goals. Participants gained comprehensive insights into the impact of artificial intelligence and digital innovation on brand perception, customer experience and corporate reputation.
Elchin Ibadov, CEO of SOCAR Türkiye, emphasised in his speech titled ‘SOCAR's Perspective on the Transformation in the Energy World: The Importance of Cooperation and Shaping the Future of the Sector’ that transformation in the energy sector can only be sustainable through strong partnerships, innovative approaches and a long-term vision.
In his post-event assessment, Ibadov said: ‘Istanbul, at the crossroads of continents and energy markets, is a unique hub for global energy dialogue. We are delighted to host CHARGE Europe 2025 and contribute to the sharing of ideas that shape the future of our sector.’
Mikayil Yusifov, Chief Communications and Government Relations Officer at SOCAR Türkiye, shared his views on ‘The role of brand clarity and investment in enabling national energy companies to forge strong bonds with their target audiences during periods of macro uncertainty’ during a panel moderated by Dr Fridrik Larsen, Founder and CEO of CHARGE Energy Branding. The panel discussed the importance of balancing global brand integrity with local connections and how energy companies can adapt to changing communication dynamics.
Yusifov emphasised the importance of the event, stating: "CHARGE not only brings together industry professionals, but also highlights the critical role of brands, communication and strategy in the energy transition. Our hosting in Istanbul added unique value to the event."
The summit concluded with the CHARGE Energy Branding Awards, which recognise the most innovative applications in the field of brand and communication within the energy sector.
