The opening ceremony and the first lecture of the third term of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program, organized in cooperation with SOCAR Türkiye and Sabancı University Executive Development Unit (EDU), took place in Aliağa, where SOCAR Türkiye's production facilities are located. This prestigious program, organized by SOCAR Türkiye, Türkiye's largest integrated industrial group, in cooperation with Sabancı University's Executive Development Unit (EDU), started with the opening ceremony on November 30. The event, which included 72 participants accepted to the program this year, started with speeches by SOCAR Türkiye’s CEO Elchin Ibadov, head of Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit and Petkim General Manager Kanan Mirzayev and Sabancı University Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici. Following the opening ceremony, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the production processes with a field trip organized at SOCAR Türkiye Refinery and Petrochemicals facilities. In his opening speech, SOCAR Türkiye CEO Elchin Ibadov said, “We are proud to start the third term of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program, which we aim to make sustainable and permanent. I believe that the participants selected among the intensive applications will add value to both themselves and the sector by gaining a broad perspective in the energy sector.” Sabancı University Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici said, “As Sabancı University, we are proud of the breakthroughs we have made in the field of energy. We work in many disciplines from energy technologies to energy security. It is pleasing to see the effective results of this program we initiated with SOCAR Türkiye. As we begin the third term of SOCAR Energy School, we are pleased to offer our participants a comprehensive and up-to-date training program.” In the third term of SOCAR Energy School, after the first face-to-face lecture, the trainings will continue on the online platform and will end on February 10, 2025. Within the scope of the program, global and regional energy issues, Türkiye's and Azerbaijan's energy strategies, new trends in energy and the topics discussed at the United Nations Climate Summit COP29 will be examined in detail.
