SOCAR Türkiye acquires GAMA Energy's Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant

Following negotiations between SOCAR Türkiye and GAMA Energy, the sale of the Central Anatolia Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant located in Kırıkkale has been completed.

The sales agreement between SOCAR Türkiye, Türkiye’s largest direct foreign investor and integrated industrial group, and GAMA Energy Inc. was signed at a ceremony held in Baku on December 23, 2025, as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan- Türkiye Investment Forum, attended by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Under the agreement, the parties completed the sale and purchase process of the Central Anatolia Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant located in the city of Kırıkkale, Türkiye.

With a production capacity of 870 MW, the Central Anatolia Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant is one of Türkiye’s strategic energy centers and is of great importance in terms of electricity supply security. With this acquisition, SOCAR Türkiye is resolutely pursuing its goal of creating an integrated, sustainable, and competitive value chain by strengthening its existing energy supply and trading activities.

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf commented on the matter, stating: "At SOCAR, we shape all our investment decisions in friendly and brotherly Türkiye in line with long-term strategic goals and the principle of creating sustainable value. We believe that this acquisition will increase SOCAR Türkiye's market resilience in the long term. With this investment, we aim to take an important step in our natural gas-to-electricity production strategy, ensuring that natural gas contributes to the Turkish economy and provides a more efficient structure for our group company."

This investment is expected to strengthen SOCAR Türkiye’s position in the energy market across the value chain, from production to end-users. It also aims to optimize portfolio management, operational requirements, and economies of scale.
